Euro 2024 Germany Edge Past Denmark To Reach Quarter Finals

Euro 2024: Germany edge past Denmark to reach quarter-finals

Musiala and Havertz on target for Die Mannschaft

Germany secured their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Denmark in Dortmund.

Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala were on target for the hosts, who were without the suspended Joshua Kimmich and Ilkay Gundogan.

The match was delayed for 45 minutes due to a thunderstorm, but it was Germany who made the most of the conditions after the restart.

Havertz gave them the lead from the penalty spot in the 60th minute after Leroy Sane was fouled by Joakim Maehle.

Musiala doubled the advantage 10 minutes later, finishing off a fine move involving Havertz and Serge Gnabry.

Denmark pushed for a way back into the game, but Germany held firm to secure their place in the last eight.

They will face either France or Spain in the quarter-finals.

Conclusion

Germany's victory was a deserved one, as they dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the match.

Havertz and Musiala were both excellent, and their goals proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Germany will now be confident of going all the way in Euro 2024, as they have a talented squad and a home crowd behind them.
